About Me
- Name: Teresa Lanza
- Location: Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, United States
My mission to educate myself and others about carcinoid cancer began in 1997 when, at the age of 29, I was diagnosed with a bronchial carcinoid tumor. A year later that diagnosis was changed to metastatic carcinoid. Today I am living an active and healthy life because of aggressive treatment of this disease. If you are reading this because you or a loved one has carcinoid cancer I want you to do three things: 1) go to www.carcinoid.org and read the section for newly diagnosed; 2) find the list of on-line support groups and sign on to one or two; and 3) contact (or start) your local support group. Fighting this disease and living a long life WITH carcinoid means you are going to have to become a carcinoid expert. Don’t “wait and see”, start now!
